PROJECT OVERVIEW

Duration: November 2013 to February 2014- (4months)

Material: Selected ceramic tiles, fiberglass, mirrors, stained glass, and recycled bottles.

Technique: Mosaic art and painting.

Size: 135m 2

This was our first ground breaking mosaic mural by Kueneza Arts Limited. We designed, fabricated, and installed two mosaic artworks’ :- One at the staircase wall and the other at the entrance lobby.

At the staircase, the concept is that of a tree whose existence is enjoyed by children and birds. The height is 30 meters and the width is 4.5 meters. We executed this mural gracefully as per the brief and on time. It is a 3-dimensional mural, that skillfully incorporates recycled glass bottles, stained glass, mirrors, selected ceramic tiles, and fiberglass.

The artwork complements the space and gave the building an identity.

At the entrance lobby, we executed, The Lavington Mall Express, theme. This is a humorous story-telling mosaic mural of an elegant, classy, and fashionable

lady who boards on a boda boda (taxi bicycle) that shuttles her to the Lavington mall. The lady is so enthusiastic to shop at the mall. Hence the boda boda rider rides very fast since he offers express service to the mall. Leading to the name, ‘Lavington Mall Express’.

In its execution we incorporated selected colorful mosaic tiles, metal rods, installed a black mamba bicycle to bring about a 3-dimensional mural giving it originality and creating a dialogue with its shopping audience.
